Speaking with the Director of Exhibits for Discover Lab Tulsa!
Tulsa looks good on you, and Tulsa looks fabulous on the Discover Lab! We’re talking with Lindsay, the Director of Exhibits, about what she does at Discovery Lab and more.
We are so excited to speak with you today and learn about what you’re doing for Tulsa. What’s going on here?
“We have a ton going on. This will be the summer of STEM, and we’re thrilled to be starting our first summer camps in the new building. We just opened on January 24, so this is an exciting time to have so many summer camps for so many kids here in Tulsa. We also have all sorts of fun demos and educational events happening throughout the summer. We couldn’t be more excited!”
A lot of us have been excited about the grand opening. Now that your doors are finally open, what’s it been like so far?
“We’ve been crazy busy; it’s been phenomenal! We’re so grateful for Tulsa. This has been a long time coming for years, so it’s fantastic to finally have kids playing and families here enjoying the space.”
Kids are out of school now, and it gets hot here in the summer. If people want to enjoy the Discover Lab, what do they need to know?
“We have a lot of different membership options. We always say that if you plan on visiting Discover Lab at least three times, a membership is for you. After those visits, it basically pays for itself. Other than that we have the summer camps, which are a great way to stay cool, learn something new, and get some museum time. There’s always regular visitation if you need something to do and it’s too hot to play outside.
“We’re open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sunday, we’re open from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.”
You guys are located in a pretty popular spot, right?
“Of course; we love being right across from Gathering Place! We’re at 31st and Riverside for anyone who wants to stop in for a visit!”
