Welcome back to another edition of “Tulsa Foodie”. Today I’m super excited to introduce you to Melvin Piper, owner of Nouveau Chocolates. This Rose District shop is everything you’ve ever wanted in a chocolatier.
Melvin always wanted to own a business and food is one of his biggest passions. He fell in love with chocolate on a trip to Europe and started working at Nouveau about eight years ago. About a year ago, he bought the business from the previous owner and has put his own spin on some new classics while also maintaining the quality that people have always come to find at Nouveau.
They get a lot of foot traffic from the lunch and dinner crowds. There are some people that even come in for some coffee or tea every day or hot chocolate in the winter.
Nouveau produces some of the finest Belgian chocolate around. There are about 49 different selections in the showcase, which they are constantly adding to. They also serve delicious ice cream and chocolate-dipped cones.

Some of their most popular chocolates include maple bacon, key lime pie, and chili pepper flavors. Their oil-fire whiskey is infused with caramel and has a creamy liquid center. I tried one for myself and it was absolutely incredible.
